Conventions and Codes of spy thriller

Spy thriller:

Hero faces challenges, has to complete a mission in which he uses his specialist spy skills, he usually is up
against a large organisation who have evil intentions. The hero has to face the boss at the end which is his hardest challenge where he must use all the skills he has learnt along the way. At the end of the film he saves the day and a new mission begins. Typical iconography, costume, hero may sometimes have a companion to help save someone or to help save the world.

Characters:

Hero: that is normally a male that is dominant, centre of attention main character the audience are focused on, with a sexual appearance to the ladies in particular, appearance normally tall man, well built , good looking, materialistic, specialist in espionage skills that helps him defeat the adversary.

Sidekick: In this scenario it would often be a female character to help the main character (the superior male) such as in recent bond films, the sidekick often good at one thing for example in explosives or techno geek. Sidekick are considered as the main characters back up, who is trustworthy to the Hero.

Love interest:

Love interest always a female character who has sexual appearance about herself who attracts the Hero. Materialistic and shallow, her role is to be kidnapped by the villan which distracts or makes the heros job twice as hard

Villan:
Villan has superior forces and resources to try and defeat the hero, the villan is normally a male who is sometimes well bulit and could also have a sexual appearance, or sometimes a disturbing appearance for example one side of his face that is burnt, this denotating to the audienece that the villan is a rebellious character who has been through alot of battles and fights over the years and like to be a challenge, also to defeat destroy and kill.

Henchman:
Henchman  is normally the sidekick of the villan who helps the villan with for example explosives or techno gadgets which the henchman is a specialists in, appearance of the henchman is normally nerdy with glasses and could aslo wear a lab jacket for example. This connotes to the audience that the henchman is propbaly a profession but has been intimated by the villan to focus on helping him destroy the heros mission. Henchman could also be a violent, nasty character or delights in destroying the opposition.

This are props such as guns, weapons, gadgets, fast cars, planes etc, which both the villan and the hero need to war against eachother.

Themes:
Secrecy and conspiracy, good vs evil, international politics.

We was given a preliminary task to do, which had to involve two people exchanging a couple lines of dialogue. In this task we had to demonstrate match on action, shot/ reverse shot and the 180- degree rule which I have included in this task.
